The Bikes are in transit !

The day has come for the bikes to say Dilli Chalo. So I get my bike back from a service at Agro Motors, Chand Pasha (now you know whom to blame if things go wrong :) ) was on the bike and did an entire check and replacement.

The new replacements were Endurance Clutch Plates, Chain Sprocket, Oil, Rear Tyre, turn indicators.

The tyre i used is a MRF.. The one that comes with the stock bike. The inner pneumatic tube was the same i last replaced a kargil about the same time last year.

Went to RK Photo Guide (run by Naresh) and bought a RC-1 remote for my Canon. What a relief, this is the very device i was searching for a long time.

I intend to do long exposure Photography at pangong.

Pretty happy, i rode with my newly serviced bike and got to The bike transporters at yashwantpur. Jags was right there packing his bike. It was late and there were no packers around so we had to do the packing our self.

After leaving the bikes in the truck, we return to our respective homes pretty content

The hunt for the DSLR

can some one advice me on a e-500 "where-to-buy" query? I went to a brigade road shop, and he said

e-500, 17.5 - 45 mm, 40-150 mm, 1gb cf-1 card (basically the e-500 dzk package), and tripod for 40k.

is this "ripping"? Please, i am out of time and i need one fast.

Air Deccan and the Trip Status

I am taking Jaggu very seriously. Especially with this ride going on. So i call up air Deccan and ask for postponement of the flight. They say 4500 bucks extra for both of you gentlemen.
I say.. cancel it..
She says Zero for you hotshots.
So i call up jaggu,.. talk a bit. The ride is on.. 8Th June 2007 again. He says he is gonna handle his mom and dad.
I am mentally preparing to be a wing man.
Jaggu came over last evening to pay me for the flight i booked. over talks he revealed that his top speed was 75-80 KMPH and that his bike had already seized at his yelagiri ride.
WTF. I ride at 105 constant on delhi highways. So i suggest that i ride his "right" sided gear bike on highways.
Jaggu smiles away. So i guess i am wing man
One biker called me up and pledged his crime-star tank bag to me. Not that i cant buy one,
Well the dwaraka, gujarat ride, the "crime-star" tore up. The manufacturer cried foul saying user error. OK Fine. Later, the manufacturer did fix it and got +300 points from me. The saddle bag does not last 4000 km of rough terrain. On the manufacturers advice (he told me to go to a "bag repair shop"), before the Himalayan solo ride 2006 I stitched it up at a cobbler's place (-500 points). And it tore before Chandigarh on the other side. Contingency planning had me get some safety pins. So Fixing safety pins i got it mended at CHD.

Trips Postponed

Ok Trips postponed to 12th June 2007

Jagg's calls me and says "Adarsh, I know you are gonna kill me for this".

I am like holding my breath. It appears my prophecy has come true (Way way too early ofcource) i will be riding solo.

So I say "Okey, whats up."

Jugg's parents are coming in to bangalore and he does not want them to know that he is riding.

here is some background of Jugg's. You can read his call for ride Dated February 26th 2007 below. At that time i was planning a solo (More of my original plans are here.

Here i go again!

I Intended and so this blog got to be the sequel to the Himalayan Solo !

Its now official, On May1st, I booked flight tickets for Jagdeep and Myself for the 8th of June. The transporter - Bangalore to delhi is finalised too (Ofcource Radhe Shyam again)

Broke the news of running away from the chaos at work to my boss - Sumanth. He quickly filled an excel spreadsheet with a lot of lines with deadlines showing June 1st week. I guess he is just fine with it ;)

The physical fitness program (running and swimming) is at max level. Something tells me that i am gonna be pushing my bike at atleast 17000 ft.

Jagdeep (28 years) is a designer with Indigo Nation and i (32 years) am the C.T.O of Instacoll.Jagdeep rides a 1994 Enfield Standard Bullet-350 and i use a 2004 Enfield Thunderbird - 350cc.

Jagdeeps machine has stock parts and a front Diskbrake. Mine has a Goldie Silencer, a BS-29 UCAL CARBURATOR and a Compass (and a thermometer)

Since the ride is beginning, and i want to make it a specialized one, i am breaking it away from the 100kph blog site.

Mores gonna be coming up, So Watch this place!!
Cheers
